The Gentleman’s Corner at Place Vendôme, Paris

I was lucky enough to be in Paris the other week for a very special birthday but also had to pay homage to the most chic, elegant gentleman’s emporium in Paris, Charvet. It's said to be the world's first ever shirt shop, Charvet was founded in 1839, it has supplied bespoke shirts and haberdashery to kings, princes and heads of state worldwide

Whilst there it was rude not to pick up a pocket square although I could have been there all day looking through fabrics and taking part in my favourite sport in Paris, people watching, although Charvet has probably the worst website ever its does make you want to make the effort to visit the store for the real experience.

Heres a small video that Mr Porter where Mr Jean-Claude Colban, director of Charvet, discusses how best to wear the pocket square
