Gentleman’s Jewellery Part 1- The Collar Pin

Mention the word jewellery to most men nowadays and they’re likely to conjure images of earrings, gold chains, rings, body piercings and these plugs guys seem to enjoy using to stretching their earlobes (still getting to grips with that one). Although you can rarely see gentlemen wearing collar pins nowadays, I think they look quite elegant and debonair and often underline one’s personal style, I’m not saying it should be worn everyday but to an event you will definitely stand out from the rest.

It’s not a man purse - It’s a satchel.

Yes I have got sick of the shopper bag and now time for a smarter more sartorial change. Needless to say, it won’t be quite to everyone’s tastes (preppy school boy look), but with the rule of the season to embrace bold colour blocking the Cambridge Satchel Company embraces colour at its boldest, with four exclusive fluorescent editions designed for Dover Street Market. For me the luminous greens and yellows are a bit hard to swallow, but they have also the classic colours in dark navy and chocolate brown which is a bit more up my street.

Mode De Vie

I despise how common the classic espadrille has become; it seems that the world and their auntie now wear them as a part of a summer uniform. So the French company Veja have found a solution, a halfway point between a plimsoll and a boat shoe. The Veja Méditerranée made from organic cotton and with a rubber sole. The Méditerranée is available in four colours; navy, red, grey and green, it would suit all your summer activities and budgets. £45 endclothing.co.uk

Sight For Sore Eyes

A pair of sunglasses is among the important factors through warm summer. Apart from its main purpose – guarding astigmatism from powerful sunshine (official reason), sunglasses are a key accessory for men, yet, some gentlemen still feel the need to wear shades at night? would love someone to shed some light on that one for me...

Always buy more than one style – you wouldn’t own one pair of shoes for every outfit so adopt the same approach with sunglasses.
