The Brooklyn Circus- Where Brooklyn At!

"Sophisticated simplicity should never die. Less is more'
The street wear boutique started in the backstreets of Brooklyn, New York, has a real preppy-all American classic feel to it. The brands’ mantra, from seeing the collections, is to bring old to the modern, but not to live in the past, but just simply to take drawings from it and re create it with a contemporary twist. From varsity jackets or simple chambray shirts, each piece have been designed and made in the U.S.A. The store also stocks handpicked brands, such as Grenson, and Duckie Brown, that share the same feelings as themselves. The brand really shows how simple isn't boring.

Shirt- $140

Harris Tweed - $80
While opening stores across America, it doesn’t have a presence yet in London or Europe but I do thing its time for one.

Boys In The Snood

The unsung hero to the alternative for the scarf is the snood. The neck cowl has been hiding in the shadows of years and has finally broken in to the high street, but during this cold snap sick to a cable knitted snood.

Peckham Rye- Easy Geez

Situated just off the ultra trendy Carnaby Street sits the king’s of accessories, Peckham Rye. The genius London based firm boast's it can suit anyone from "the Lambeth boys and girls of yesteryear to the stylist of today".

The experts are not new to the industry and have worked and learnt their trade on Saville row for over four generations. They offer anything to complete an outfit from pocket squares to skinny ties, although recently slimmer ties have been semi-ruined due to the likes of Chris Moyle’s, the shape vintage 60's London look still boasts that gritty stylish look. All ties on offer are hand cut/stitched and lined with wool, a rare find these days. The newly opened store and has every colour and variety under the sun, and without the stupid price tag.

Christmas Wish List (Part Three) -Get Down On It.

Ralph Laren Black Label- £295

Most commonly associated with ski wear or shockingly him from N-Dubz, but the gilet is starting to makes its way back to the men’s wardrobe. The padded vest is a versatile piece from a preppy look or is a great alternative to a blazer but still is effortlessly sharp.
Topman alternative- £46

The Perfect Denim- The Impossible Endeavour

"I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity - all I hope for in my clothes. "
Yves Saint Laurent

The men's classic love affair with denim, as their daily uniform, is still one of the hardest pieces in a man's wardrobe to perfect, so finding the right cut and colour is an impossible task. For denim the choice is too much, shops have huge departments dedicated to them, and even with all this choice, still men are none the wiser on what is right to wear, a true menswear minefield. Although high street stores really do everything to make it increasingly difficult to even determine where to start, take G-Star for an example I'm still bewildered what planet the genius was from that decided to put stitching across the leg of the denim? (And charge over £100 for these?)

In my experience the best company to explain all about denim is Nudie Jean, the Sweden based label loves denim and the passion shines through. The company's philosophy is to create well priced denim that is built to last. For all the many shapes and sizes- Nudie have created 13 different styles which covers all the bases, From skinny to slouchy, low-yoke to that classic out-to-dinner denim, your choice's have never been so vast.

The wash for me should be simple, dark wash or mid-blue wash. The two washes can be easily smarted up or dressed down with any occasion, yes I know that it sounds boring not to have a different or a fun wash on your jeans but , for me, it’s far too risky endeavour and you could end up having the jeans wearing you, instead of you wearing the jeans. The Nudie brand expresses the desire to keep it simple and brings everything back to basics. http://shop.nudiejeans.com/
